Japanese Warships, including helicopter carriers and Aegis equipped destroyers, flying the Rising Sun, are awaiting deployment orders.
A British Carrier Task Force is on its way to the Gulf region.
Australia has deployed ships to the area.
Russia has an infantry division along the former USSR border with Afghanistan.
Several foreign businesses have closed up shop in Israel and called their people home.
Thailand’s government has given its blessing to the creation of an Islamic Bank ‘for the convenience of Muslims’ in that country.
Malaysia has guaranteed the insurance coverage for Malaysian Airlines.
It may NOT be billed as World War Three.
But it will do until the real thing comes along.
This is bigger than most Americans realize.
Yes. You read that line above right. JAPAN is preparing for war.

Japan has promised to help when the United States strikes back at terrorists. But unlike its past efforts at ``checkbook diplomacy,'' Tokyo is preparing to put its military closer to harm's way than ever before. ``It will no longer hold that the Self Defense Forces should not be sent to danger spots,'' Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi said in Washington this week. ``There is no longer such a thing as a safe place.''
Toward that effort they are arming and deploying actual warships capable of firing shots in anger. Seventy percent of the Japanese people are in favor of the use of their military in a supporting role.
If this isn’t World War Three…
The Taliban have sealed Afghanistan off from the rest of the world. One Million Refugees are flooding border crossings or have taken to the hills. Communicating with the outside world is punishable by DEATH.
A general call of ‘JIHAD!’ has gone out from them and Ossama.
They are trying to paint this as a war against Islam.
But Saudi Arabia, the home of Mecca, the Holy Site of all Islam, has broken off all ties with Afghanistan and ordered such diplomats and Afghani nationals as were in the country out in forty eight hours.
Afghanistan is essentially alone. Except for Iran, which hasn’t made up its mind yet. Iraq, who doesn’t count since they are a target too. And Indonesia, which has the largest Muslim population in the world.
And the Taliban like it that way.
If this isn’t World War Three…. The Talib think it is.
